How long before a run should you warm up a blower motor?

How long should you let it warm up?

    Thanks,

We tend to run it about 45 mins to an hour before a run.

As for how long, do the obvious first like check for leaks but then let it idle for 2 mins before making any fuel changes. If this is a chevy then dont forget when checking heads for heat that you may get false reading near exahust port. better to feel oil pipe too if possible to get oil warmed.

    time

in a race environment, we typically warm up about an hour and a half before the first run. every other run about an hour prior. that varies depending on temperature. when you are running in cold conditions it is better to warm up a little closer to the run time, like 40 minutes or so, and wrap the motor in a big blanket. this keeps the heat in the oil.

as far as time of warm up, we typically go 90 seconds of idling, then bring the motor up to 4000 to run it through the gears, check reverse, then bring it up to stage rpm. depending on how fat you have the barrel valve, if you have it real fat, you may need to trim the fuel shut off back until you see all the pipes clean for that 90 seconds to build heat.
