Egt Location?

    How far from the header flange at the cylinder head should the EGT sensors be located? Thanks

    1.5 to 2 inches. Putting it on the top will read a little higher than being on the bottom

    You may want to mock it up on the motor. I put some at 2" on the top, and they got in the way of the blower restraints.

    Good point. It would save a lot of cussing and stomping ones feet

    The sensors I have I got from Randy at RPM it's his Datta logger I'm using. I have to cut the ends off of the sensor probe How much should the sensor stick into the pipe? Should It touch the bottom side of the pipe? Thanks Jamie

    No no no you cannot cut the ends of the probes. That will cost you big bucks. The ends need to be in the middle of the exhaust tube. Check your PMs for my cell number and call me.

    I have also seen them mounted on the bottom side of the tube, this may help with clearance problems
