Does anybody know how the ECT limiters 2 step works?
I want to know does it retard the timing?
I can't see how as the breaker points can't move...
I read it does a random misfire.can anybody elaborate more on this misfire
I would like to know how it stops firing as in the sequence..
How many times does it spark and what sparks does it not do?
just want to learn how it works so can think about weather it could be used on my engine.
    Thanks....

    Thanks Mike,
Is there a rule of thumb how it calculates the misfire? Is it every ??? Spark doesn't fire or
Only takes 1 away from 1 cycle then randomly repeats....

Unless it is computer controlled there is always a possibility of killing a cylinder more than once in a row. This happens with the MSD Two Step that uses a chip. The MSD Two Steps that are used with Digital 7, 8973 and the 7730 Grid and the ECT are totally random and will not repeat shutting off one cylinder twice in a row. These digital two steps or rev limiters are considered to be "Soft Touch" limiters and are a lot easier on the motor. You can actually hear the difference between the older chip style and the newer digital rev limiters when staging.
