EARTH SHAKING ENTERTAINMENT had two of our teams featured in the IHRA Presidents Cup National Event this past weekend at Maryland International Raceway. BILL NAVES with his "Shooting Star" entry was to battle it out with Former IHRA World Champion BUNNY BURKETT in a best of three match race that was booked into the event. Because of the inclement weather on Saturday the show was stuffed into two rounds of match racing during an action packed day of racing on Sunday. M.I.R wanted us to concentrate on the "SHOW" and that is what we did with Bunny heating things up first round with her traditional 1,000 foot burnout with a huge American flag bolted to the top of the car. When the tree came down, it was Naves out first but he could not hold off Bunny when she ran a 6.21 to his 6.27. Bunny won by only TWO HUNDRETHS of a second! The crowd showed their appreciation and we hit the pits to get ready for round two.

Our second and final round came after the Presidents Cups final rounds of competition. With Pro Stock, Pro-Mod and Top Fuelers finished up for the evening, E.S.E got their second opportunity of the night to show the fans of IHRA what Funny Car racing was all about! Naves and Burkett lit the tires at the same time and laid down side by side 1,000 foot burnouts! The crowd was amazing and ready for a show..... neither team would disappoint! Naves was out first again but Burkett was right there! The two cars ran IDENTICAL ET's..... Naves 6.16 to Burkett’s 6.16! Naves took the win by FOUR HUNDRETHS of a second! The crowd went nuts and they really let you know just how much Alcohol Funny Cars are missed by the fans.

Throughout the weekend you could hear fans walking by saying," That is what I am waiting for, the Funny Cars!", and many were asking where we have been all year. It was a privilege to represent our class and we were all stoked with the side by side racing. Thanks to Royce Miller and M.I.R and IHRA for recognizing the void of the class and what we bring to the "SHOW". Keep up to date with Earth Shaking Entertainment at

As we are sure to be part of IHRA events in the future. We are also gearing up for our FOURTH consecutive year of E.S.E shows for the 2010 racing season. Thanks again to M.I.R, IHRA, Bill Naves, Bunny Burkett, and the fans for making this a spectacular event!

Good report Jagger - sounds like a great show. I think the long burnouts are one of the things I miss the most from the "good old days". It makes a good race a great show and gets the fans up on their feet in a hurry. There are a few TAFC guys that still do a good burn out but as the cars have become faster and as the stakes have gone higher the burn outs became smaller (which I do understand).

Keep up the good work - you can compete with the national runners as long as the show is good. If you guys run within 2-3 hours of Atlanta, please let me know and I will try to get out to the track and support you guys.

I noticed that you ran at Greer Dragway last month - I did not realize this until after the fact (busy work schedule this summer). My mom lives about 20 minutes from Greer so I have been to that track many times - back in the early to mid-90's they put on some great Pro Mod shows and an occaisonal alky show. They don't do alot of special shows any more so I am glad you were able to match race there.

    Good luck.
