After the weather canceled this very event last month, Earth Shaking Entertainment made our long awaited return to Monrovia, Maryland's 75-80 Dragway this past Saturday, June 27th. The weather was amazing and the fans were awesome as we rolled in with four of our Alcohol Funny Cars. Bunny Burkett, Bill Naves, Leroy Dewdney and Tony Cannoy would test this resurrected dragway and put on an amazing show for the hundreds in attendance. Gates opened at 2 p.m. and our first round of competition was at 4:30 p.m. First up was Bill Naves with his Shooting Star entry up against Former IHRA World Champion Bunny Burkett. The two started things out with MONSTER side by side burnouts that had the crowd on their feet! Both left strong and were SIDE BY SIDE with Naves taking the first win of the day with a 4.26 to Bunny's 4.29! To finish out the round, veteran driver Leroy Dewdney Stepped things up when he took out Cannoy with Low ET of the round, an amazing 4.17 to Cannoy's tire shaking 4.36.

This set things up for the second round. Leroy Dewdney would be up first this time against Bunny Burkett. The two lit them up with wild side by side burnouts. Leroy was out first and never looked backed, ripping a 4.09 (low ET of the meet) to Bunny's consistent 4.28. Next was the closest race of the day with Tony Cannoy coming out firing with a hole shot WIN 4.17 against the quicker but loosing Bill Naves with a GREAT 4.16!

The finals were set for Dewdney -vs- Naves, but when Dewdney could not make the call, Cannoy stepped up. This would be a re-match of the second round. As the track cooled down and the dew started rolling in, we knew this would be a wild Final! After two great burnouts the two turned it up on the starting line, Naves went into immediate tire shake, but it did not matter, he took the WIN after Tony Cannoy and The Mad Scientist Firebird Red Lighted away the second quickest run of the day with a 4.13!!!!

The track, track personnel, and the fans were all incredible! It felt great coming back to this old track and putting on a great show! To all the fans that stopped by to say hi, we want you to know that you are the BEST! Thanks again to 75-80 Dragway and we are looking forward to coming back soon!
