We are trying to get on a waterbrake dyno that has never run a setup like ours, about 1700 HP/1500 ft lbs. I'm trying to get a feel for what we need in the driveline to both protect the dyno and our engine from damage.

The dynos you've been on, have they had flywheels or not?

And have they had any other type of vibration dampening device? possibly built into the driveshaft.

This dyno has only 4 bolts that drive the waterbrake, its called a 1350 u-joint bolt pattern, and they are in about a 4" bolt hole circle. This worried me a little as we all know that the flywheels are normally being driven by a lot more then that...
