    Heitzman and Hirata Team Up

Look out because here come A-Fuel dragster drivers Dyno Dave and Dave Hirata! The two drivers sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels teamed up a couple of weeks ago in Reynolds, Georgia and they don’t plan to stop there. The dynamic two-car Team will be making their first side-by-side appearance this weekend in Pomona to get their feet wet before looking forward to 2008.

“That was probably the most comfortable our Team has felt with anyone who has helped on our car over the past couple years. Dave and his dad, Ken, came both came down and things went really well. They have a similar operation to ours with friends and family working on the car, so it is a good fit for us. I can’t tell you how excited we are with the progress that we made in just one weekend,” said Dyno Dave.

The Team qualified #4 out of 18 cars for the 8-car field with a 5.40 at 261 mph. In first round, they ran another good consistent pass of 5.45 at 258 mph but came up just short of the win light at the other end.

“I am so excited to be working as a two car Team with Dave. I know there are a lot of long hours ahead of us, but I am sure that we will have some fun along the way too. After spending the weekend working with them in Reynolds I can’t wait to get to Pomona. Now we just need to decide how we are going to tell all the DH glasses apart in the trailer.”

The next event for the Team will be in Pomona, California for the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, November 1st thru the 4th.
