Norwalk, Ohio - After a win last week at Lebanon Valley in upstate New York, Duane Shields was one of the favorites to win the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. The track, Summit Motorsports Park is located less than an hour from Cleveland and is one of the nicest venues on the tour and the Summit race is one everyone wants to win. Duane qualified well with an impressive 5.27 at 280 MPH to land as the 5th seed in the strong 16 car field.

In round one, Duane raced James Stevens. At the light, Stevens got out of the gate first with a .061 to Duane's .096. Stevens held on for the win with a 5.29 to Duane's 5.39. "We dropped a cylinder 2.7 seconds into the run. It was also hot with high humidity which tends to slow the A/Fuel cars down but this really hasn't been a problem for us this year" Duane said.

The Muscle Milk team will stay in Norwalk for a Lucas Oil Regional event next weekend. "We are going to stay here this week and test on Thursday. A lot of the teams are staying over so it should be another great race again this coming weekend" Duane said. Duane would like to thank Muscle Milk, NGK Spark Plugs, GRP Connecting Rods, Clean Boost, SRI, and Brad Anderson Enterprises for their support of Duane Shields Racing this season.
