about this Vega flopper, how it was to drive,
and the engine combo he ran..??? ET`s, mph..etc..etc..

Thank you for supporting the Nostalgia Movement,..isnt it alot more
relaxed, and alot more fun ???

    Vic

Vic, Thanks for posting the link. The vega was my first race car. A Ken Cox car with a 73 vega body. I ran the car at OCIR in bracket races and all the big funnycar shows. It had a chevy big block, single 4 barrel carb, turbo 400.
It ran 8.80's at 155mph. Had a lot of fun with that car. I have always been a funny car guy, from touring with a nitro car in the 70's to driving funny cars now. I have allways wanted to drive nitro funnycars, but never got to untill now. I drove top fuel for a few years in the 80's, but was always in love with funnycars. I will be driving Garry Messenger's Future Flash here at the March Meet, and selected races this year. DT.

Yeah buddy way cool DT makes the field and the car has a lot left in it !
29 AA/FC's trying to make the field and I got sick or I would have been there today, man last year I went and it was so cool the place was so packed people had to sit on the stairs goin up the stands and then when you looked behind the stands at the car show area it was packed at the same time as well.

One heck of a showing for Dennis Taylor excellent job,..
Dennis had to face off against the best in the west first round, and if you
are going to have a reason for not winning a round,
there is no better reason than getting beat by the best.
dont know if Dennis shook, are peddled but fell off a bit to lose first round
to none other than Bucky Austin, who has won the last four races in a row
    at Famoso raceway in Bakersfield,..
Great Job regaurdless and glad you had fun doing it.

PS,..Maybe Clint Thompson needs to come Nostalgia racing to put a
    end to Bucky`s win streak,.....HINT ,...HINT....:p

Thanks for the support Vic. We had a BLAST! One of the fuel fittings broke and started spraying fuel over the windshield about 200 feet out. I had no choice but to lift.

I'd like to thank Garry Messenger for giving me a chance to drive his car, and Bob Brooks for getting it competitive so quickly. I can't wait to drive it again!
