Hegge Records Career Best Marks In Mission, BC

Doug Hegge and his Turned-up racing A/Fuel Dragster had a solid opening weekend in Divisional competition this past weekend at Mission Raceway Park.

A couple goals they had in mind to start the weekend fell into place, including qualifying for the event and improving on not only their season’s best marks, but also their career bests.

They qualified solidly in the field with a 5.48 second elapsed time. It put Doug number six in the field. He would take on Joey Severance in round one.
Hegge was second off the line and actually had to pedal the car, as it started to rattle the tires and got loose at 180 feet down track. It hooked back up though and started charging real hard from half track on. Hegge got to the finish line second, but the timers came up with a solid 5.405 elapsed time at 266 mph. Career marks for the team in both speed and mph.

“Running under the new rules makes it difficult for sure and we did not know going into this event if we could match our previous career marks of a 5.47,” stated Hegge. “Great weather and a great track made our job easier and it all fell into place. A win would have been nice, but many of our objectives were met. “

Hegge would like to thank the sponsors, BrightSign (a Ruku company) a next generation digital sign controller. Check out their web site http://www.brightsign.biz. Also, Radford Trucking, Total Impact Wear, Spitzer Composites and Goodson.

Special thanks go out to the Reichert family for all their assistance and guidance.

The crew including Randy, Casey, Tim, Kym, Rhett and Dad all worked their butts off all weekend long.

Next up for the team are back to back Divisionals at Spokane and Seattle in the middle of June. Spokane is higher in altitude and Seattle is similar to Mission, so it will be challenge to adapt to the different conditions. They are really look forward to both events in their home state.
