This has been discussed already but I called Div. 3 today to enter the Indy event. Car and driver $140.00, crew members $40.00 each. For me that is $300.00 I don't have. I stated my opinion to them and they said that the other 12 funny cars were fine with it. We match race a lot and I really just wanted to go to a decent track to get some laps. Most of the tracks we go to are not as well groomed as Indy. On our budget we have no hope of qualifying but would still like to take advantage of running at Indy. If you make 3 runs to get whipped in the first round you will net $150.00 per pass. The absolute least we make at match racing is $250.00 per run plus we are treated like royalty by the fans and track personnell. I would love to run with you guys at the divisional level but it would seem that NHRA doesn't want any new teams in alcohol. We will probably run at least 12 events this year with our low maintainence 6 second car and make a little money at each one. Pardon my whining, it just bothers me that this is happening to Top Alcohol cars that would be welcomed at almost any track in the country and treated with the respect they deserve.

Racers for Christ and IRP are making an effort to get some folks in the stands. I have been talking to Glenn Kreider (RFC) and they are sponsoring a "Family day at the races" where folks can get in for only $2 on Saturdy. They are having "understanding drag racing seminars", "Children's programs" and "Ladies Programs" all on Saturday. We are working to get some response to this offering. RFC has put a lot of effort into this to try and make new fans of the sportsman event. I realize this is not going to change the world overnight, but RFC realized the need and has began working outside the box to help. My hat's off to all the folks involved. I have several people asking for these vouchers that wouldn't otherwise go to the event. It is also my understanding that IRP has cooperated and is assisting in this effort. We have a long way to go, but doing something is better than doing nothing. Call Glenn if you need some vouchers at: 618-664-2392. See you there.
