Las Vegas Hosts Throw Down Showdown

ANAHEIM, CA — Dennis Taylor and the Plumbing Concepts crew are eager to test the conditions for this weekend’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 7 season final. The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway promises to deliver top-quality traction, as 28 pre-entered Funny Cars battle for spots in the “great-eight” qualified field. Forecasters are calling for temperatures to range from the low 50s at night to mid 70s during the day, while the desert should offer no more than 20-percent humidity.

Dennis mentioned, “This should be the mother of all Lucas Oil Series races. I expect the bump spot to land somewhere in the low 5.70s and guarantee we’ll even see a handful of cars in the 5.60s.” Following those remarks, Crew Chief, Ora Vasquez noted, “I’m just thankful we’re racing at a first-class facility this weekend. Even though we haven’t been here since the spring, we have a pretty good handle on how the Plumbing Concepts car reacts in the desert.”

Price Pfister Pfaucet of Pfacts: The engine in Dennis Taylor’s Funny Car features valve cover breathers that vent directly into the upper frame rails, which carry the oil vapors to what’s commonly called a “puke tank,” located behind the roll cage. The tank is emptied after each event and the frame rails are drained of excess oil residue as part of the team’s regular weekly maintenance schedule.
