    Taylor Ready for Third Straight

ANAHEIM, CA — This weekend’s return to Infineon Raceway marks the third-straight race for Dennis Taylor and his Plumbing Concepts Top Alcohol Funny Car. With the stage set for this Pacific Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, Taylor fully expects this to be the quickest Lucas race ever. Dennis noted, “I wouldn’t be surprised to see 20 cars here at Infineon. That just makes our job tougher, as we only have eight qualifying spots, instead of last week’s 16. I have confidence in our equipment and in our crew. These guys are the best.”

Crew chief, Ora Vasquez, noted, “We can’t count on the conditions to be as good as they were last week, but we’re prepared either way. We’ve developed a good hot weather tune-up, so we have that to fall back on, if necessary. Co-crew chief, Terry Morrow, added, “The Plumbing Concepts car has been very consistent lately, and we should be able to pick up right where we left off last weekend. If we can keep up with the air and the track, we’ll be okay.”

While recalling the team’s recent efforts, Taylor said, “Over the last several events, we’ve been through a power outage, persistent rain, a postponed final round, more rain, and quite a few successful rounds of racing. I have to thank Ora, Terry, Victor Scardina, Tom Capalbo, Bruce Conradson, Dean Shirai, Jerry Crawford, Andrew Gude, and Keith Hardison. These guys work hard on all the important details that give us a good, safe race car.”

This second consecutive trip to Infineon Raceway puts a cap on the most aggressive part of Taylor’s 2007 schedule. Due to the final round postponement, which occurred at the Division 6 event at Pacific Raceways in June, Dennis has to adjust his September schedule in order to complete that event. Right now, though, the focus is on Infineon Raceway and the challenge at hand.
