Taylor Positive During Negative Times

ANAHEIM, CA — Dennis Taylor attacked the short off-season much like he conducts each day at his safety equipment business – full throttle. He mentioned, “With the economy the way it is right now, I have a responsibility to my family and my employees, and that’s the way I access my priorities. Family’s always first and racing should never get in the way of that. We worked hard at Taylor Motorsports Products to re-certify racer’s existing equipment and keep up with new orders, also. This year, Taylor has upped the ante for his own race team by replacing his older engine blocks with new engines from Alan Johnson Performance Engineering. Crew chief Terry Morrow added, “Dennis wanted to run the TFX blocks that AJPE builds to match the “Muscle Heads” we’ve been experimenting with over the last couple of years, but that’s a major commitment. He thinks enough of this program (and team) to know that may very well get us to the next level (of performance). We’re ready to go.”

Taylor has worked hard on the sponsor side of things, as well. He’s pleased to announce the return of BTOSports.com, a Southern California company that specializes in online parts and accessories sales for the off-road and street motorcycle markets. Taylor noted, “I believe we can enhance the marketing efforts of BTOSports.com, as drag racing attracts a broad segment of motorsports and powersports enthusiasts. Not every fan in the stands has a drag car. They run the gamut from street rodders, to sport truck, muscle car, boating, and motorcycle lovers. We hope to connect BTOSports with new customers.

Taylor added, “These successful businesswomen understand drag racing and they know I’ve done a good job for my non-automotive and non-traditional sponsors over the years. Shari decided we could put her company’s name in front of people from virtually every professional trade, from doctors to carpenters to construction workers. It’s exciting to work with progressive people who think out of the box.”

Taylor’s entire team remains intact as it prepares for this weekend’s Kragen O’Reilly Winternationals, set to converge on Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Tape delayed television coverage of the Top Alcohol classes can be seen on February 15 from 11:00am to 12:00pm (Eastern Time) on ESPN2.
