    Taylor Primed for Phoenix Fast-Fest

ANAHEIM, CA — This week marks the second time Dennis Taylor and his Plumbing Concepts crew has traveled to Firebird Raceway in 2008. Their first trip was for pre-season testing where track and weather conditions were less than favorable. Dennis noted, “We ended up with two aborted runs on a marginal surface before bad weather forced us to load up and head for home. My team looks for more favorable results this time out.” Taylor’s second outing to Phoenix will help kick off the NHRA Pacific Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.

Dennis has dubbed this new season as the “We Gotta Have Fun 30th Anniversary Tour” and it’s on target for measurable success. The war chest is well stocked with the latest parts from Alan Johnson Performance and everything’s fresh. Crew chief, Terry Morrow mentioned, “Dennis has claimed victories and runner-ups here and we feel our tune-up is on the money. We hope the track will take the power, since this race follows NHRA’s national event.”

It’s expected that the Plumbing Concepts Top Alcohol Funny Car will be part of a large entry roster. Dennis expects upwards of 16 cars will roll through the gates to battle for the coveted eight-car qualified field. Taylor added, “This first Lucas Oil Series race is always well attended. I know of four Division 6 cars that plan to race here, so we’ll all have our work cut out for us.”

Just a week before the event, the entire Plumbing Concepts team was at the shop servicing engines and double checking their work. As always, the mood was upbeat as the guys work with both precision and camaraderie. Coming into Phoenix, the valuable data collected a few weeks ago at Pomona could serve to start things well on the Lucas Oil Series trail. All eyes are on Firebird Raceway as the Pacific Division 7 competitors come out of the box charging hard.
