DEMKE AND PEEN RITE/CLEANBOOSTOIL.COM TEAM ADVANCE TO SEMI-FINALS AT INDY

<img src="http://www.insidetopalcohol.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=268&thumb=1&d=1282175677" align="right" borders="0"/>Indianapolis, Ind. – The Jerry Maddern Racing team from Sun Valley, Calif. recorded a career best elapsed time and speed while completing a number one qualifying effort and a semi-final appearance at the 56th running of the Mac Tool’s NHRA US Nationals presented by Lucas Oil this past weekend contested at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Ind.

Chris Demke, the talented driver of the Maddern Racing Top Alcohol Dragster placed the teams 471 cubic inch blown alcohol dragster on the pole position with a mind-numbing 5.258 second elapsed time at 271.54 miles per hour recorded in the heat of the day during the team’s final qualifying session. The run was a career best ET and speed for the Maddern Racing team who entered the US Nationals second in the national Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series point standings. The number one shot was also the second quickest elapsed time ever recorded in NHRA competition for a blown alcohol dragster.

The Southern California team’s effort provided them with a first round match-up against the number 16 qualifier and local racer from Marion, Ind. Robin Samsel who entered eliminations with a 5.43 second best. At the flash of the green, both drivers left nearly side-by-side, but the power of the Maddern and Adam Rhoades tuned blown alcohol dragster took the lead by the 60 foot clocks and an 5.308 second ET advanced the PEEN-RITE / CleanBoostoil.com TAD to round number two.

The second round paired Demke versus multi-time National Event champion Mike Kosky from Cuddy, PA, who earlier dispatched defending US Nationals champion Ken Perry in the first round. Both drivers were glued together at the hit of the throttle, but once again, the PEEN RITE power-plant protected by CleanBoost® METTLE ARMOR Racing Oil was too much for Kosky to overcome. Demke’s 5.324 ET prevailed over Kosky’s game 5.370 effort.

The semi-final race was a clash of the titans, as Demke raced Shawn Cowie from Delta, BC. The Canadian and NHRA Division 6 hitter was ready for the PEEN RITE team as they held the choice of lanes after their sterling 5.31 second ET recorded in round two. At the flash of the green, both drivers recorded outstanding reaction times, separated by merely 0.004 seconds. The Division 7 team overpowered the ORP left hand lane, shook the tires at the top of first gear and blew the blower burst panel while Cowie and his team thundered to an impressive 5.295 ET to take the semi-final round win. Marty Thacker from Robinson, Ill. eventually defeated Cowie with an amazing 0.003 second reaction time in the final round to capture the US Nationals crown.

“The PEEN RITE team was thundering this weekend for certain,” noted Demke, who was unable to increase his point total due to previous semi-final appearances this season at the National Event level. “I am so proud of our team and the efforts of everybody who helped out this weekend. I’d like to especially thank James Day for helping us out this weekend. We would also like to thank CleanBoostoil.com and Boninfonte Clutch Parts for their additional support at Indy. We’ll head to a few Divisional races from here on out to hopefully improve on our point total. We are not done yet folks. Hold on to your hats, because we’re going to give it our best effort to capture the World Championship.”
