Put the wally on the band saw?

Too bad no more close shave awards or whatever they called them. Wonder how the computer picks a winner when the MOV is less than that being measured? What criteria does the computer fall back on to decide who won? In theory this should have been a tie. Which did occur only once before if i recall many many years ago (yes after electronics)

What we saw in the stands about half track.
Marty was the first to stage and rolled into both beams. Frank was careful lit pre stage and stage. I was afraid Marty would roll the beams as he seemed to have the RPMs up quite a while. when it went green from my perspective it appeared that Marty moved first by the tiniest of margins. At 330 it appeared Marty was moving ahead and held about a third of a car-length at 330 and half a car-length plus at 660. I was fully expecting Marty's win light to come on but couldn't tell who led at 1000 foot as it appeared Frank pulled up even. The reaction times of course tell me that I was mistaken unless Marty was real shallow and Frank deep in the staging beams and Marty did move first. Was an interesting race and I could kick myself for packing up my DVD cam early.

I've been told that the computer goes to more decimal places than what is displayed. Either that, or the computer knew what lane Manzo was in. :)

A computer will read out to 8-9 decimals, what ever it takes to find the difference.

    I lost a round by .00001 once.

This is why I am an alcohol racing fanatic. It's where all the racing is. No diving, No giant corporate sponsors telling you to do or else. Just out and out great racing from a variety of cars across the nation. Not the same 16 primma donna drama queens racing every week "on tour"
