de icer?

    ive noticed some cars spray de icer into the injector after the burnout? am I right as in they are using de icer? is that for screw blowers specifically? im curious as to why and who is doing this

    Yes it is to get rid of the ice on the throttle blades. It seems to build faster on a screw blower than a Roots but happens on both. If it builds at idle then the idle rpm will drop and it could stall. Also the blades could stick. It is caused by the small gap set in the blades acting like an orifice or expansion valve in an airconditioning system.
