I just installed Jetsize on my Windows XP laptop and it works fine but it slams the CPU to 100% whenever it's open like it's doing some huge calculating. I can't use my data logger or msd programs at the same time. I had a computer guy look at it and my other stuff takes about 12% CPU to run max.
Anybody know why the Jetsize would need such big processing power? Maybe reload it?

    Thanks
    Mike

Jetsize is a very small program. I have it on an old laptop that has less gig's than a single CD.

I would recommend scanning your computer with the program Malwarebytes and SpyBot and check it. I have also run Jetsize on very small computers without much memory.

I see this often.. While Windows JetSize is a small program, it will use every CPU resource available to it, whether the computer is 10 years old or brand new. And maybe it is just certain processors that have the problem. If you have tried running MSD View at the same time as JetSize and plug in to your PowerGrid, it seems like it takes forever to connect. With JetSize closed, it's virtually instant. That being said, RacePak typically runs just fine with it running.

Justin, like I said the only time I have had problems is when the computer is infected. I run MSDView and Jetsice all the time. As soon as it slows down I scan the computer for malware and adware. I would like to shoot those guys that keep on infecting my computer. Anti-virus software is not enough.

    jetsize

We kept the laptop off the internet to avoid all the diseases. We deleted all not essential software and ended up with very few processes running in the background. The computer got noticeably quicker starting up and running my other software but as soon as jetsize opens it redlines the cpu. As Justin stated, it seems like it will probably bury the cpu no matter how powerful it is.
If you watch the cpu load realtime it dips to a reasonable level when jetsize is calculating but it goes back to 100% load when idling.

    Jet Size issues

I recently purchased Jet Size. and after I loaded it I kept getting an access violation message. I would close the message and it would keep showing back up. I sent the info to Sean. He had never seen it. Just got my laptop back from repair (It was full of junk downloaded programs somehow)? it would not run. I got it back used it for two days worked great. just reloaded jet size and now the same message is popping back up again.... anyone seen this?
laptop is 3 year old HP windows 7. it seems like when this message started showing up is when my bogging down problems began and now it is back after reloading jet size.
I have a window 8 laptop that I was going to use to keep it off my main laptop but Sean said 8 had some issues.. anyone using windows 8 with jetsize?
    UPDATE,
my computer tech does not think this pop up box is related to the JETSIZE program.

Had this problem with a windows 8 machine a few months ago
would work fine 2-3 days then wouldn't let you do anything...
the trick was to install a virtual windows XP system on the computer that would start up with jetsize
    since then it worked flawlessly

windows 8 is way different in all aspect so it`s the reason why it doesn't like jetsize

    xp

I ran the laptop all weekend and it worked fine. I just kept jetsize closed until I had all my other stuff looked at. It kept my tuneup displayed so when I reopened it I just had to change the air data.

Just as a note for all. If you want to run an older version of Jetsize on windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 then you need to contact Acceleration Enterprise and get their updated version. I am using the updated version on Windows 7 with no problems.

Thanks, understand. But if you are using Windows 7 or higher then you should be using Jetsize Version 1.73V or newer. That stops a lot of error messages. If I remember correctly if you have an older version then it only costs $25 to get the upgrade version and it loads right over the older version.
