Hirata Motorsports 2008 Norwalk Finish Line / Joliet Starting Line

If qualifying day was race day we would be doing fine. That’s what the Hirata Motorsports team is looking to change around this coming weekend at the Joliet Nats. We asked NHRA to start the races on Friday qualifying but they did not see that being possible. We have been qualifying well but need to get some race day luck. Of our 3 first rounds losses, 2 have had parts breakage. At the Norwalk div 3 first round, the car shook. I pedaled it, but the car didn’t pull. Found out that we blew the guts out of the reverser. We have shook more lately than in previous seasons. The lack of passes by this time of the year has not helped out either. We have had to miss 2 national events because of funding. Those runs we missed are so important. Our plan is to step back a notch and look to make good solid consistent runs. We consider this one of our home tracks, along with Indy, so we will have lots of friends here. It will be a brutal field as all of 2007 top 10 cars are registered along with about 20 other top shelf cars. It will be an accomplishment to make this field.
