Hedges Ready to Get Back on Track

After attending the Torco Racing Fuels National event in Joliet, Illinois last weekend the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels blown alcohol dragster driven by Dave Hedges will return to the track for the Lucas Oil Divisional Series event this weekend. Last week, the Team had some strong passes early in qualifying and heading into the 3rd round they were less than 2 hundredths of a second from making the show. However, after experiencing part failure, they were unable to get down the track under power and failed to qualify.

“We were running well and getting quicker each pass, so we are happy with our progress. It was a quick show and we believe we would have made it if we would have been able to make a full run our third pass. Sometimes that is just the way it goes. We are getting it all to come together and feel really good about this weekend,” said crew chief Brian Pfeifer.

At their last divisional event, the Division 3 opener in Norwalk, the Team raced to their first final round appearance. They have continued to get faster each pass down the track since then, so they hope to put on another good show this weekend.

“We have been running well and it is only a matter of time till we can get this car in the winner’s circle for Evan and all the people who support us at Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels. Hopefully, it will be this weekend.”

Qualifying for the event will begin at 5 PM on Friday. It will continue on Saturday at 5 PM and 8 PM. Eliminations begin at 1 PM on Sunday following the opening ceremonies. For up to date coverage of the event please log onto www.dragracecentral.com.
