    Another Strong Weekend for Hedges

Dave Hedges kept his qualifying streak alive this weekend when he made the 8 car field at the Indianapolis Divisional event despite having to sit out the final session after losing a motor earlier in the day. With the solid showing this weekend, the Team remains in the Top 5 in the divisional points standings.

“We are happy with the weekend. We have made so much progress since last season and if we keep doing that we are going to win some rounds. Next week we are going to try to avoid that 1 vs. 8 match-up by moving up a little higher in qualifying, but anytime you are racing on Sunday it has to be considered a pretty good weekend. And my Team did a great job this weekend. We hurt a motor during the second round of qualifying and after working well into the evening getting everything replaced and ready for Sunday, we went out there and ran a 55 in first round. I really can’t ask for anything more from these guys,” said crew chief Brian Pfeifer.

Going into the session Hedges was sitting in the middle of the field, but the best air of qualifying produced some good runs from his competitors and when it was all said and done Hedges was in the field, but on the bump spot. This lined him up with the #1 qualifier and points leader for his Sunday match-up for the second straight week. Hedges had over a tenth of a second off the line but that wasn’t enough to hold off his opponent when he ran a 5.55 at 261 MPH.

“Now we will head to Columbus and see if we can get this car to go some rounds. We stuck around last week to watch a couple of our Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels teammates get into the winner’s circle; maybe this week it will be our turn.”
