What happened to Dan's car. In the picture it looked like both rear wheels had come off before he hit anything? Anyone know if he's ok?? Thanks

He was dead center in the groove, the right came off first, lifted the body a little and turned it left, they both sheared within a second or so of each other, both tires were going down the track when he hit the left side wall. I'm not sure what the Strange fuel toploader looks like but the end bells look like my 9 inch, so I assume its a Strange, for what its worth.

bead rings and wheel studs ??

Hard to believe these can be broken even with the quality of the components involved ..... seems to be another puzzle ..... hopefully it can be resolved before anyone else gets hurt

Stig Neergard, a Danish top fuel racer in the FIA championship had the studs sheer on one side a few weeks back at the Euro Finals, looks like something that is happening far too often for my liking

    Wheel stud material?

Are the fuel guys running titanium wheel studs or steel? Just asking because I don't know, seems to me if they were titanium they'd be a little softer and need to be replaced mgre often than steel?? We've always run steel studs on our TAFC, but a couple years back we had a set of titanium lugs for them. We never did run them because when torqiung them they didn't feel very good, kinda mushy.

I heard Mike Dunn mention somthing about titanium studs on the espn broadcast.

    Thoughts?

Kenny Bernstein had the titanium studs sheared off his T/F a few years back. Now they do not allow titanium studs.
