Last weekend at the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod event Dan Nickelson ran the quickest quarter mile door car run ever anywhere with a 5.706. He later quieted the skeptics by backing up his record run with a 5.73 at "only" 248 mph.

He runs a BAE powerplant set up by yours truly, a Lenco 2 speed and a Spec Rite converter. And there is a lot left in the car. Dan's only problem is that his 2001 Jerry Haas Viper weighs in at about 2,500 pounds! Too bad he doesn't have one of those new light weight cars.

Gotta be the tuner......he's heavy too, but he still can do the job well ! :)
Obviously the car still works too !

I'd believe there to be quite a bit left in the converter itself.

The issue for these guys is track prep. They race as guests of the tracks and are subject to the conditions they are delivered, but will rarely (or never) see ADRL or NHRA National Event style prep. To me track prep is the great equalizer. Las Vegas is as good as it gets for these guys but the oxygen isn't there.

Dan is running the "C" 112% over.
