Tough weekend for Kracht provides valuable learning lesson

Baytown, TX – Making his second event debut for Randy Meyer Racing, new driver Dan Kracht came out strong in qualifying with a blistering 5.351 seconds pass at 261.83 mph. This past weekend’s event at Houston Raceway Park for the O’Rielly NHRA Spring Nationals saw impressive times by the Alcohol cars.

Rain delays prohibited the Top Alcohol cars from making their last qualifying session on Friday. When all was said and done, Meyer and Kracht snatched the number 6 qualifying position after struggling with mechanical problems in the last session and were unable to improve of their first run.

For round one of competition on Saturday afternoon, Kracht paired up against young west coast driver, Justin Davis in the Steve Federlin machine. Kracht left a little too soon on the starting line -0.015 red handing the win over to Davis. The car did not make it far as it went into tire smoke and Kracht tried his best to get it to recover.

“We came out of the gate charging at Houston with the 5.35 pass” said Kracht “then just seemed to go down hill the rest of qualifying. The red lit the first round hurt but getting to be a spectator is much harder.” Comments Kracht “We will move on to Division Four event in Dallas this weekend which I look forward to and I feel we will get back on track and perform well”

It is not uncommon for a driver to speak of learning lessons and how they apply themselves to improve on the points taught. Kracht will take this weekend in his strides and build on it with the foresight to move forward as a driver and go rounds at future events this season.

Randy Meyer Racing with Dan Kracht will travel onto the South Central Division Four season opener event at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX from April 3-5.
