BRANDON “THE KID” LOOKS TO SET WINNING TONE AT TEXAS MOTORPLEX

    BROKEN ARROW, OKLA – September 21, 2006
Now is the time for Lewis Racing Team to show how quickly it learns.

Top alcohol funny car driver Brandon “The Kid” Lewis left last weekend’s division-4 race in Houston a day early after not qualifying at a divisional for the first time in his career.

The diagnosis was bad springs in the clutch prevented the Alcohol Tank and Truck Accessories Monte Carlo from giving Lewis its best. It’s a problem that the Broken Arrow, Okla. native said will be solved for the O’Reilly Fall Nationals in Ennis, Texas.

“It’ll make us run better and stronger,” Lewis said. “Now we know what’s wrong and we can get it fixed.

“We can get everything back to the way it was when we made good passes and reached the quarterfinals in Vegas, Topeka and Chicago.”

“The Kid” hopes to use the national event at Texas Motorplex to set the tone for a strong finish to 2006.

“This race is very important. It’s going to predict how the rest of the season runs,” he said. “If we do well in Ennis it’s going to boost everyone’s confidence and get us on a roll.”

After the Fall Nationals, Lewis is scheduled to run four more races in the season’s final 48 days.
