So what do people think about the proposed changes. How much ET will the Blown cars be able to gain with the new proposed rule changes?

    Whats the deal here???
There have been a number of posts asking what was discussed at the meeting. Isn't there anyone out there willing to discuss or inform the rest of us?
How about you Gloria since you said you were there.

    Bob,

The minutes of both meetigs have to be summarized and condensed. All of the peole taking notes work in addition to racing. Sorry it's taking a few days, but I didn't get back from Indy until Tuesday morning and I've had alot of catching up to do. Janet Kosky and I are working on a report now.

Many had positive contributions yet others spoke to hear themselves speak. There was one TAD inparticular that was commenting on not oiling the track down without or with rule changes yet that same day oiled the track for 45 minutes. Ironic eh! Duane, Tate, Marty all did a great job of speaking on parity, and not defending their car. There needs to be a board seperate from the officers that can deliberate on changes, parity, etc... then the board work with officers to address issues with NHRA. Speaking of which the Div. NHRA rep that attended, needs to run for political office, he avoided every question perfectly. The officers in place currently are in my opinion are doing a great job, although TARA needs to find a different route to NHRA to re-gain its respect. Peace...

That's why this so-called "proposal" from the racers as to what NHRA should do with regards to parity is such a Joke! I wonder how many A-Fuel racers out there think they have an unfair advantage and thus agree to add more weight? Can anybody name one?

    Mr. Scary,
Duane Shields, Jerry Darien, and Randy Meyer were ask to represent the AF/D contingent. David Wells, Steve Federlin, and myself were ask to represent the BA/D contingent. We all sat down for a couple of hours with Tate Branch as the scribe and discussed the TA/D class and it's problems/future.
Everyone present acknowledged a performance advantage with the injected nitro combination. Opinions ranged from .10 to .14 seconds in average conditions. Everyone agreed that the gap will continue grow.
All present, except 1, agreed that if the BA/D contingent died away, the class would not last long. That keeping both combinations healthy and competitive was necessary to make the class prosper.
Other issues were addressed concerning entry fees at Divisionals, Gold/Silver/Bronze Card allowances, the recent proposed NHRA safety rules, missing low qualifier monies at National events, pit parking policies, etc.
Everything was put on paper and signed by all present. It was an honest attempt to help the class and all involved.

    Take care,
    Marty

Any specifics on what was proposed? slowing the A-fuel down or speeding the BAD up? Cubic inch? Blower? Weight? Or was it a meeting just to officially acknowledge that there is a problem? Someone spill the beans.

Marty, thanks for some insight. Are you six members suppose to come up with a proposal for NHRA by a certain date? Me personally, I'd like to see the Rules for the Blown cars opened up a bit. A-Fuel cars have had 4 Rule changes in the last 8 years. But any rule change for the blown cars that doesn't involve higher Blower % won't mean squat!

Any AFD racer that doesn't think they have an advantage over the BADs must be smoking some good $h1t.
