Hi, I've got a Crowerglide for my car, Now i've never driven one of these, is it right that you press the pedal just to move the car around ? how about staging and launch ? I know i'll learn very quickly when it's up and running but a little heads up would be great !:D
    Thanks,
    Wayne

its kinda like a go cart clutch the more rpm the more it locks up add more weight it locks quicker i had one i went to a pedal clutch seems easier for me to work on but thats just me

if you dont have a stop for the pedal you can push it over center and it will kill the motor at least the one i had did but i didnt know shit about it at the time

we run a Crowerglide in our fuel F/C - works fine for us!
It can start to move if you press the pedal a little deeper, but that depends on the profile on the fingers, but that is easy to check.
And after you`ve done that, make shure you have a pedal stop to set it up the way you want it.

I've never tried it, but theroetically I believe yes you can push it in far enough to "drive".

In tractor pulling we push the pedal in to start the motors.
So a typical multi-engine setup will get one motor started and than you raise the RPM in that motor until the drivetrain (your in nuetral) starts turning, at which point you push the pedal on a motor that is not running. This turns that motor over and when it starts the centrifigual force of the clutch can be felt pushing back on the pedal.

You just keep repeating this until all motors are running.

I believe most if not all of the nostalgia nitro cars run this type of clutch. The problem I have seen with some of the nostalgia alky funny cars that run this clutch is that they have to raise the rpm so much to back up from the burnout. I'm sure it's all in the setup, maybe the stall speed can be lowered to minimize this effect.

Thanks guys , I'll add a stop to the pedal , starting the multiple tractor engines sounds like fun ! Hopefully i'll be running it for the first time in about 3 weeks so i'll let you know how i get on.
    Thanks for the help :D

When i was racing i used a crowerglide, and as said earlier i just pushed the pedal to get the car moving, then when the rpm comes up on the burnout so does the pedal. Same thing backing up after the burnout, no need to raise the rpm, just press the pedal, at least it worked just fine for me. I think some time ago someone posted some tuningtips for the crowerglide, cant remember who though, anyone else maybye?
