What's wrong with Crower? is it quality, delivery, machining tolerances, price, etc?

Use only a Billet crank from the 3 Manu. listed above. I have run Crower and it lasted about 20 runs before the cracks showed up. I know they are not cheap, but you are paying for the quality and piece of mind. But ask me and I can break anything. Don

Hey Don, where do the cracks tend to show up first with the Crower? I've got a spare new Crower backup, but maybe I'll opt for a spare new Bryant instead. What are your thoughts on the billet Crower stuff as opposed to the forged?

For the guys running really high RPM alky, is it worthwhile bull nosing and knife edging the counter weights to cut down on the aero effects?

    Lastly, what about Moldex cranks?

I bought a Bryant recently but I had also priced a Crower forged. Bryant had an 8 to 10 week backlog at that time while Crower had one on the shelf ready to balance. The Crower was only about $50 cheaper (or should I say less expensive) than the Bryant but a lack of positive reviews on the Crower made me decide on the Bryant. It was for a future build anyways so I had the time to wait. Maybe a larger difference in price may have made a difference.

The cracks were in the fillet area on the number 1 & 2. If they were in the center I wouldn,t worry too much about it. i HAVEN,T HERD ABOUT MOLEX IN years My Valaso,s don,t have all the fancy stuff. They are heavy. My budget doesn't alloy me to buy 3 cranks a year at about $3300 + shipping. Don

Dont skimp on your crank. Valasco, and Bryant is what we use. Be very careful buying anything used. You will find all kinds of used stuff on ebay selling cheap. Chances are they have cracks in #1 & #2.

Is the Bryant crank a better crank than a Winberg.

Winberg is advertising on this site so I was going to order from them.

    4.250 BBC Billet Crank.

Before Winberg ever spent a dime with me, I asked crankshaft guru Lance Flanakin if Winberg was any better or worse than a Bryant. He said both were really good choices and that was the choice of the top runners in TF, Top Alcohol and Pro Mod. I personally like the service I get from Randy and the guys at Winberg.

They saw value in the alcohol market and chose to support the site. Support of our advertisers is always appreciated!

Thanks Will, I will continue on and buy my crank from Winberg.
I don't run Top Alcohol but parts still cost a lot of money and I don't want to by a crankshaft that isn't a proven component.

I built three engines right next to each other. One Winberg, one Bryant, and one Velasco. The Velasco didn't have the fancies, but was every bit as strong, and the other two had different charactoristics, but both were pieces of artwork. All three run to this day.
