I am putting together a new fat head hemi engine and getting ready to order a crank. Between the RCD style splined snout and PSI splined snout which is the better or more common choice. This is for a screw blower application.

    Thanks

    Tol,

Thanks for the response. I had looked at the RCD comparison last week and the RCD version seemed to be the better option. Since there are 3 directions you can go when ordering a crank ( standard double key, RCD spline, or PSI spline) I don't want to go a different direction from what is currently being done with the best results. This is for a low 6 second altered so I am not trying to rotate the earth. On a TFX block is there anything else that needs to be changed when going to a splined snout other than the gear drive crank gear, the hub, and the snout bolt?

    Thanks

I'm kind of in the same boat as you at this point as I get ready to order a couple of cranks. I posted that link just in case you had not seen the RCD page. For what you're doing there shouldn't be anything wrong with the double key deal. Hubs are a bit hard to get on & off but there are ways around that. For example, PSI have a super nice Ti/Bronze hub deal that you can put on and take off with a ratchet and all the other standard parts work with it.

By the way I have a brand new still in the bag PSI Ti/Bronze hub kit with lower pulley clamp, trigger wheel, magnets, etc. that I bought for a project but wound up not using. If you are interested in it send me a PM.
