Looking for some info on what drilling the stator will do for me, have a coan billit 280mm with a sprag, on a C rotor AJ 2700lb our tracks are good starting line but goes away around 100' always wants to blow tires off around 125' out unless we pull lots of timing out thinking that drilling the stator may help us? give us a little bigger window.
    thanks

I had a coan 265 with several stators and some were drilled. I think it was supposed to soften the lockup like you want.
I asked Chance about it and he said it never really produced much.
If you run 1/8th mile a NXS will help a lot. Leaves soft and locks up as tight as Coan downtrack.

Drilling the stator isn't the answer, do it if you like but it's a waste of time. What you need is a timing controller, data recorder, and someone who can utilize them both. The car will go down the track with what you have no problem. What stator is in this converter? I'd recommend PM'ing me the answer to the aforementioned, I don't think it's ever a good idea to air your laundry in public forum.
