Congratulations Ted Lake - Division Five Pro Mechanic of the Year​

Overland Park, KS – When Division Five A/Fuel Champion Driver and Team Owner Randy Meyer asked Ted Lake to join our team a mere seven years ago, Meyer found a trusted, hard working and dedicated crew member. Over the years Lake proved his worth as Assistant Crew Chief for the Meyer Racing Team and at the Division Five ‘High and Mighty’ Awards Banquet held on January 16th at the Overland Park Marriott, Ted Lake was finally recognized by the entire NHRA Division Five community for his outstanding accomplishment as a crew member, receiving the Pro Mechanic of the Year Award.
For the past twenty years, Ted Lake has spent much of his free time at the race track assisting many of the alcohol teams within the NHRA. From alcohol burning funny cars to the A/Fuel dragsters, Lake has many great stories of his experiences to share over a good beer. But for the most part, Ted has spent his time with Randy Meyer assisting Meyer in the building and fine tuning of his A/Fuel dragster and when Meyer is in the driver’s seat, Lake is the one making the final adjustments and taking on the role as Assistant Crew Chief.
Having become a permanent fixture in the drag racing scene, Lake and partner Stacey Lindensmith have worked endlessly together pursuing their love of racing over these past few years. So when the decision came to decide on the Division Five Pro Mechanic of the Year, I am sure there were no questions as to who should receive such a prestigious award for their hardwork and commitment within the sport. Lake has given more than just his spare time having developed recognition for his mechanical and tuning abilities; there is no better person to have received this award.
On behalf of Randy, Mary, Megan and Rachel Meyer, Dan Kracht and family, Craig Schmidt and family, Dan Olson and family and The Harker Family, congratulations to Ted Lake for his outstanding achievements in 2009. May 2010 bring as much success.

Congrats, Ted. Can't imagine the award going to a better or more deserving guy. I know you've taught this dumb Iowa farm kid an awful lot over the years. Hope there's a lot more good years to come. Can't wait to get back out there this year and get out of this snow for a while. Thanks for everything over the years, Ted, and thanks as well to Randy and Mary and the girls for letting me be a part of this deal and for all the hospitality they've extended to me. I can't imagine a better bunch of people to be a part of. Here's to a great 2010 season everyone!
