I'm really surprised no one has commented on this father/ son B/AD Team and there outstanding performance at Pomona. They Q'd with a 5.370 and continued to run faster all day long. 1st rd they posted a 5.322, 2nd rd 5.329, 3 rd 5.350 and there untimely redlight keep them from outrunning Shields...or the possibility.
Great jobs guys, your on to something and it's showing.
    Blessings.........Ron Clevenger.

MBR motor...previously known as a Fontana. Its a joke that floats around.

    Congrats to the Severance team.

I believe Ken Perry has that from Gainesville last year running in the .20's

Sorry guys, I just looked back on this post and read the questions.

Thanks Shawn for answering. The name, from my understanding, came from Tractor pullers who really like using the fontana's because of the torque.

Hey Shawn, I heard you guys are coming back out this year, are you going to be in 4? Be nice to be running with another Tractor Flopper :D:D

Ken perry also runs the fontana. A wise man from cuddy, pa, told me those heads are able to flow the the new 128 over better than the fat heads. The only trick is keeping them from pushing the head gaskets. They have about half the head bolts as the hemi head. This is good to see another combination working well in the blown class. We run the old style fuel head on our car, and although we were only able to make a few runs with the new overdrive before our crash, we noticed a big difference. We went 889 at 60ft, 2.32 at 330ft before the track turned into an ice skating rink. The fat head was built with the 115 over in mind, thats why alot of guys with those heads have gone back to the 115 over as opposed to the 128. but this is great for the class, to see other combinations running strong, instead of everyone running the same stuff. I can't wait to get back so we can see what Richie Bozzelli can do with our combination with a few more runs and a little more data on the 128 over.

Hey Nancy. We are kinda in limbo as to what we are going to do. We currently have the car up for sale right now. http://insidetopalcohol.com/showthread.php?t=16525
The old man is kinda fed up and still has a bad taste in his mouth about not recieving qualifying money in Oklahoma a couple of years ago. But if the car doesnt sell I hope I can talk him into hitting a few in Div 4 and 5...you know to show everyone how good of a car they would be buying LOL.;)
As far as pushing out head gaskets... that has never been a problem for our team, and we have ran this motor for 15+ years. 9/16 head studs torqued to 185 lbs has a way of preventing this problem. No need for a bunch of useless head studs if the ones we have do the job. lol... You also never hear of a MBR engine having problems with spinning rear mains like the chryslers have been known to do. The thrust bearing being on the rear of the motor prevents this as well. My opnion is the MBR engines are far superior to the chrysler engines. Some might remember that the Minor Brothers were the the first to 260 mph in TAFC before they slowed the blowers down.

Shawn, Well, Hope to see you out there, get him really happy one night, sign the paper and when he wakes up the next day, show him the new agreement :D:D:D Just kidding, whatever works best, but it would sure be great to see you guys!!

The other great thing about the Fontana motor that is a real treat for servicing is you don't have to take off the manifold or blower to get the heads off. So if you burn a couple of pistons, replacing them goes much faster.

I assume CAlbert is Mark. If So, it will be AWESOME to see you competing. That deserves just as much recognition as another driver we've heard of lately.

What was it that was coming off of Joey's car in the second round. You could see it on the super slo mo footage.

Also did Bob Frey really refer to Frank Manzo as Jay during the semis? It wasn't just once either it was at least twice, maybe three times...
