What are the comparisons between the BAE forged block and the Alan Johnson/TFX forged block. Which is preferred and why

MSD44 mag,,,, is there a difference with the one used in the top alky cars, compared to what is used with the fuel cars?

Need to make a decision, could use some practical information before opening the bank.

Can't tell you on the blocks but all Promag 44's are the same regardless of the application. The only thing that can be changed is the rotation of the generator depending on the type motor.

    look at the fuel cars
    90% or more use TFX
since they dont give them away for free i am sure there is a reason they use them
I switched to a TFX from a KB 20 years ago because of oiling issues and have never looked back
i am not sayin anything is wrong with a Brad block either
    IMHO

One difference is if you buy a used mag set up from a fuel team, the TF/AF cars use a points box with no rev limiter. That's not really a good idea with a blown car. Other than that, they generally are the same. I have seen a few fuel teams that now use a 3 pin deutch connector to replace the standard 2 pin msd connector from the generator.

Most fuel cars run the big MSD cap. It's a better set up because the poles are further away, but if you aren't making big swings in timing, I've ran pretty good with the standard cap. The nice thing about the small cap and rotor is it's about $20 for the setup, so I change it about every 10 runs when I change the coil wire.
