Congrats to Shane Sanford, TAD on the beach.

Shane Sanford takes the win in TAD last weekend in the sand. Low et, top speed, and now the points leader. Good luck this weekend.
2.53 at over 141 miles per hour in 100 yards on the sand. He's driving the former In-N-Out Frank Pedregon Driven Darrien and Meadows, Bobby Hansen machine.

When we ran in the sand, our injected S-10 Blazer ran some 3.20's at just under 100 mph. To run the numbers Shane did on sand is amazing. Now Mr. Goodwin, did you have anything to do with it?

    Russ:

    Who, me??? LOL.

Shane, Troy and the guys worked their butts off this weekend and won it all again. Two weekends in a row.

This weekend (on sand with the consistance of silt), he ran tire spinning rev limiter hitting mid 2.70's to take the win. By the way, he was faster than just about every top fuel car on the grounds.

Number one in championship points. Way to go, guys.

His car is blue and silver and says "Frederosa Racing" on it.

Shane's car is a long ways from right. I think on the right track it'll run 2.40's at 150 once the clutch and gearing are figured out. He says the thing plants him about 3/4 track but by then the run is about over.

I'd like to put more power in it, but he wants to figure out how to make what power he's got now stick to the sand. I have to agree with him, but once it gets a little closer there's several more things we can do to wick it up.

He cracked a spring retainer last weekend in the semis and didn't know you can't make a hundred runs on aluminum blower studs a while back. Other than that it's been a trouble free deal for him.

It's all good, as they say.

Hi Russ, Joe Bettencourt here. I used to race against you when you had your S-10. I didn`t know we could talk about sand racing here. I met Shane at the races a couple of weeks ago at Avenal races, his car runs very hard. Mike Gordon was there also checking out the old times.

    Hi Joe!
It's been awhile, hasn't it? Is your back still sore from that vertical ride you took? If my memory is any good that was way downtrack wasn't it?
It was actually by brother, Randy that you raced against. I made a few runs in that S-10, but never when it was a real animal. Randy built that car, eventually built cars at Hadmans, and now has his own racecar shop. When growing up he always took his time and built really cool models...we won't discuss mine
Many alcohol and nitro racers spent time in the sand before coming to the asphalt. So Randy G., will we be seeing Shane anytime soon?
