    the pedal

Tom , depending on what style clutch ( like an A/Fuel car or Blown car), will tell you what and when it's used. On my blown altered, I run a Crowerglide, similar to an A/Fuel car. I use the clutch when startin the car up, so it will not move with the brake applied. With my clutch setup, my car will not move until I release the clutch pedal and give it some throttle. When I stage the car, my foot is off the pedal, and I just give it enuff gas to inch into the beams, and leave from a dead idle, clutch pedal out. On the "pedal" style, more common with the blown alky guys, they use the clutch more. Depending on track conditions/tune up, they may leave with the pedal all the way down to the stop, or "load" the clutch by just letting up slightly and tugging the brake as hard as you can with the rpm's up. This is just a rough idea, ask some of the pro's...

    Mike,
Thanks bro that gives me a pretty good perspective of how the clutches work. With the second kind you described you hold the clutch to the floor until the lights come down then release it?
