Didn't want to turn the E-Town thread another direction, so here's a new one.

I've wondered for many years now why we don't cover the quarter mile like they cover a baseball diamond. Picture this if you will: It starts to rain, you have your spotters (who are already along the wall) grab the tarp that's in a awning-like roll mounted on the outside of the left or right retaining wall and together (I don't know, 20-25 people?) the spotters run it over the track's width and attach it to hooks mounted on the outside of the opposite retaining wall. Tarped from starting line to the 1/4 stripe. Stops raining, unhook the tarp, you just cut your water clean up time by a bunch. The show goes on.

Of course there will be some issues to iron out, as there is with everything, but I just don't understand why nobody has done this yet??

Hey...Clint, you wanna start a business together?!

And wait...maybe if they don't have to spend over an hour prepping the track after rainfall, TAD and TAFC won't have to loose a qualifying session because of it! Hahaha!
