Here's one to throw out for discussion to the resident 'experts' that reside here:

Which do you think is more important? Cubic Inches or Boost Per Cubic inch?

Is it better to run a 464 or 451 in TAD at the same weight? Or bigger? Or smaller?

Is 526 the hot ticket in TAFC? 511? 498? 475? or heaven forbid 451

What do yall think? I think some interesting viewpoints could be added here....

    WillHopper,
All things must live in harmony. Is it better to boost the cid, or cid the boost. Serenity demands that we balance our karma with our inner being.
that's all I have to say about that.

    LOL

    Give me boost.

I'll take 10 lbs over 10 cubes any day.

    but marty,

how can one achieve balance if they do not know the balance between boosting the cid and cid'ing the boost. we seek the knowledge to find that harmony. LOL.

If you do a little searching on the internet, there are some websites with formulas for figuring out the total cfm with blower boost. That should give you a straight forward answer to this question.

There are also some good programs like quarter junior and density from Pat Hail at racing systems analysis that let you make predictions accurately. Like Hillary Wills 5.40 at vegas in 4200 feet of air would translate out to a 5.27 at 300 feet.

    Will,

    info and calculation sites:
    hre.com
    quarterjr.com
    smokemup.com
    bryantf.com
    eng-tips.com
    pontiacracing.net/auto_math_programs.htm

These are just a few of literally thousands of interesting websites that offer good info. I usually type in something simple like "supercharger cfm" and expand from there.

I'll bet a 500 CI at 125% would make a Hell of a lot more HP than a 452 at 110% or whatever is legal!
