Recorded Another Final Round In Bowling Green Last Weekend

Last weekend, Chuck Cheeseman earned his third final round appearance of the season in Bowling Green, Kentucky at the final division 3 event of the season. Unfortunately, he and the Cheeseman Bros. Racing Team came up just a little short in the all Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Final.

After qualifying #2 for the event, Cheeseman ran a great 5.75 in the first round of eliminations to earn the win light. Then later that afternoon, he continued to have success on the hot, tricky track running a 5.76 during the semi-finals. The final round was a match-up of the two Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels sponsored TAFCs. It was a good race, but Chuck and the Team came up just a little short of earning their first win of the season. The finish moved them up into the 4th spot in the tight divisional points chase and 2nd place in the Jeg’s All-Star points battle.

“It was a good weekend for us. We made it to another final and Evan had both of his Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Funny Cars in the final round for the first time. Maybe next time we will come out on the other end of that deal. For now, we are going to load up and go home and get everything ready so that we can head out to Indy next week,” said Chuck.

“Indy is one of the biggest and longest races of the season. I feel good about the weekend. The car seems to be running pretty well right now and it will be nice to see what we can do on a national event prepped track. We are going to go out there and give it our all and hopefully on Monday we will be in the winner’s circle.”

Qualifying runs begin on Friday at 1 PM and 4:30 PM. Then on Saturday the Team will receive one shot at 11 AM. On Sunday they will have their final chance to qualify for the 16 car field at 9:30 AM. Final eliminations will begin at 5:30 PM and continue on Monday following the first pro session.
