Chrisman Holley Springs into action in Baytown

The team of Chrisman Holley and his family owned A/Fuel Dragster will head to Baytown this weekend for the teams first NHRA National Event of the 2007 drag racing season.

Holley, of Freeport, Texas, is a machinist and chassis fabricator by trade, has been involved with nitro drag racing since he was a small child. He helped his dad until he was 18 on their family owned Top Fuel Dragster. He then transitioned to working on the Top Alcohol Dragster's both owned individually by Bill Barney and Jay Meyer. Although this is only his sophomore year piloting the family A/Fuel Dragster, Holley raced dirt track go cart's for many years in his youth.

Holley, who is currently 8th within the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series South Central Division 4 points chase can't wait to get out to their home track. "So far in the first two races of this season, we've experienced some ignition problems but the engine is still making excellent power. The accumulation of data that we have so far will help us this weekend as we are striving to be racing on Sunday" states Holley.

Holley's career best to date is 5.59 seconds at over 260 miles per hour.

A Matter of Fact: Did you know that Bob Holley, Chrisman's dad and Crew Chief ran a front engine Top Fuel Dragster together with Dick Venables for a couple of years back in the late 60's.

Holley would like to thank the following sponsors for all of their support: JH Performance Boats, Allen Strait Custom Homes, Reactive Metals and MBRT.

In addition, Chrisman would like to thank his crew, Allen Strait, Donna Ward and especially Darlene Holley for always making sure there is plenty to eat and drink when they are at the track, and his Crew Chief and Father, Bob Holley. The Team especially would like to thank Gene Snow for always being there to lend a hand whenever a question is asked.

The 4th National Event of 23 within the NHRA Powerade Series kicks off on Friday, March 30th with two rounds of qualifying at 1:30 and 5:00 p.m. for the Alcohol Class. Qualifying resumes on Saturday, March 31st, at 10:00 a.m. followed by first round of eliminations at 1:00 p.m. Final Eliminations begin on Sunday, April 1st, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. For all the latest udates and racing results, log on to www.dracecentral.com presented by Summitracing.com 1-800-230-3030 or www.NHRA.com.
