I just got a chassis stabilizer from S & W. I put it under the car (afc), and realized it doesn't seem to fit correctly. The i.d. of of our bottom frame rail is 17.5", and the o.d. of the stabilizer is 18". When I put air in it, it doesn't hit anything. I can't figure out where to put it. The only place I can see that it might work would be under the motorplate. The instructions, though, said not to let it touch anything sharp, and I don't know if the motorplate will be too sharp once the weight of the car is on it. Any suggestions?

    thanks

that's what i've been thinking about doing, I just don't know if all that weight bouncing on the oil pan is very good for it?

    thanks

    weight bar

i ran into that problem with our car until i started mounting the weight bar for towing purposes...we have a weight bar that goes under the driver...i strap the car down good and tight, then inflate the bladder until you can tell it's putting a good amount of pressure, but not to the point it's about to blow.

Under the oilpan or under the motor plate is where i have seen them placed 90% of the time. the idea is to place it under the mid area of the car where all of the weight is, to keep the chassis from flexing and eventually cracking. or you can get an airride trailer to get a smoother ride for your car.
