Chaffee Motorsports Ready for 25th Annual Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd
“American Dream” Top Alcohol Funny Car Supports Deployed Troops

BRAINERD, MINN., Aug. 10 – Chaffee Motorsports, owner of Top Alcohol Funny Car “American Dream,” are in top form and ready for the NHRA 25th Annual Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd August 10 – 13. But “American Dream” is more than a funny car. This special car honors and supports the thousands of troops deployed all over the world.
Chaffee Motorsports is a family owned and operated Top Alcohol Funny Car Race Team from Big Lake, Minn. The "American Dream” theme was designed and painted by Gage Chaffee, driver and youngest son of owner's Ron and Barb Chaffee, and represents the family's goal of serving all branches of the military and following their racing passion.

“American Dream” proudly displays the logo of Operation Interdependence®, a nationwide non-profit organization that is the premier Civilian-to-Military Delivery System® in the U.S. Chaffee has displayed the logo at no cost to the organization since 2002. Chaffee and David Smith, a track enthusiast and photographer, will also sponsor the Operation Interdependence® Low ET Challenge at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals held at the O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis August 30 – September 4. As part of that effort, Chaffee and Smith are sponsoring a special edition “American Dream” – Operation Interdependence Low ET Challenge T-Shirt that will be offered starting with the Indianapolis event and online at www.davesdragpics.com. All proceeds will benefit Operation Interdependence.

Operation Interdependence provides a secure and streamlined means for people at home to send a letter of well wishes and a package of goodies to the troops (dubbed Civilian Rations® or C-rats®) without overloading the military delivery system. Most people are not aware that sending packages and messages to the troops can cause logistics and security problems for the military, detract from the mission, and possibly bog down in the system and never reach the troops. Operation Interdependence volunteers of all ages are currently sending over 50,000 individual C-Rats a month. For some soldiers, the C-rats from Operation Interdependence are the only communication from home they receive. Since launching in December 2001, Operation Interdependence has delivered over 1 million C-rats WITHOUT impacting military resources.

Chaffee’s support of Operation Interdependence is made possible due to the generosity of sponsors Dent Wizard and Minneapolis Auto Auction.

Race fans can learn more about what they can do to support the troops by going to the Operation Interdependence website at www.oidelivers.org.
