Can anyone confirm or deny that Casey Suzuki died from a massive heart attack. I believe he was partners in a Nostalgia A/F front engine dragster and was on Steve Chrisman's TF crew.

    R.I.P. Casey

Casey passed away at age 42 from complications caused by a massive stroke. He previously suffered a stroke in 2007 that he battled through.

He worked for a lot of teams (Darien & Meadows, Jerry Toliver, Morgan Lucas, and Frank Pedregon, to name a few) and ran his own Nostalgia A/Fuel dragster at one time. I first met him when he worked on David Busby's Top Alcohol Dragster in the early '90s when everyone on that team was a SoCal guy in his early 20s.

He was a great guy who always made everyone around him laugh/smile, and he will be dearly missed.

I didn't really know Casey that well, but I always hate to hear when we lose one of our 'own.' RIP and Godspeed.

This is the info Brad posted on NHRA.com:

Funeral services for Casey Suzuki will take place on Saturday, June 11, at 4 p.m. at the Anaheim Free Methodist Church located on 1001 Mayflower, Anaheim, Calif., 92801. Suzuki passed away on Monday, May 30, at age 42 due to complications from a stroke.

Suzuki is a longtime crewmember who has worked on various nitro and alcohol cars with such drivers as Morgan Lucas, Ashley Force Hood, Frank Pedregon, Jerry Toliver, Tony Bartone, Steve Chrisman, and David Busby. He also owned and tuned the Suzuki-Cirello Racing Nostalgia A/Fuel dragster. Suzuki was part of the teams that won the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Top Alcohol Dragster in 2003 (pictured) and 2004 and scored a runner-up finish in Funny Car at the prestigious event in 2005.

He began going to the races at Orange County Int’l Raceway with his uncle when he was a kid, and his first direct involvement with the sport occurred as a teenager in 1984 with a job at Diamond P Sports that he attained through high school friend Cameron Evans. Over the years, Suzuki’s keen sense of humor brought him recognition as one of the sport’s more colorful characters behind the scenes.
