Just wondering if a clutch disc could be cut in a brake lathe? Has anyone tried this?

Do you mean cut it back for less surface area or make it flat?

I use a brake lathe to cut them back from factory but I think there would be too much wobble to truly make them flat unless you made an adapter/ table to mount on the lathe for more support. The cutter does a fast job of removing material though.

We have done 100s, takes a little practice, finish is a little different than ground, you just have to get your clutch adjusted to it.
