I first off must apologise if this doesn't make sense, I'm pretty sure I have this down right!

Basically we are having problems with the throw of the crank with the rod not clearing a trailing cam lobe. We have a late KB Block with a 4.25" stroker crank, is there a possibility that some KB Blocks weren't made with the clearance needed for a stroker crank?

And am I right in thinking the only way to solve this issue is that we get either a taller deck block or a shorter stroke crank? Down to a 4" crank possibly?

Thanks for reading, if it made no sense then I apologise :)

KB blocks come in a standard or raised cam configuration. Normally a 1/2" crank should clear in a standard cam block. Assuming your cam is degreed correctly, if it doesn't clear either your rod is not clearanced for stroker applications or you have a cam with a large base circle. You need to determine exactly where the cam is hitting the rod, usually just a very little machining and polishing of the rod is all that is needed. If you're not comfortable with that, then the rod manufacturer should be able to do it if you give them all of your specs on the engine.
