Cam Degree Help

I have a 20 year old KB 426 Blown Alcohol with a Donavan gear drive that we are trying to degree the cam timing in on.
I have spoken with Donavan regarding this and the instructions on their web site have been read. But its just not making sense.
Can some one help?
I know many of you have had one of these I am just hoping some one still remembers how they did this.
