    Roadhammers Race Team Edmonton wrap-up

Cal Tebb and the Roadhammers race team had a tough weekend with their Pro Nostalgia Funny Car and the Alcohol Funny Car. Both ran quite well, but the fields in both classes were very tough. A 6.07 was the number necessary for the Alcohol Funny Car field and Cal matched his career best a 6.16. We ran that same number at Mission last year, so running it here at 4000 feet higher elevation is quite satisfying. While we would like nothing more than to qualify, we are making headway, and we know it will happen sooner than later.

For the Pro Nostalgia Funny Car class, the eight qualified cars all ran in the 7.50’s and so did Cal Unfortunately, his 7.592 was .006 too slow, as the bump was a 7.586. “This weekend was the toughest field ever for the class. To be separated by only .079 with eight cars is unbelievable. We did not get there, but we can sure hold our heads high”. Next up for Cal is the Lucas Oil National Open at Mission Raceway July 25-27. He will compete with the Top Alcohol Funny Car. He is hoping to get into the 6.0’s or even possibly the………!!!!

Cal is sponsored by and would like to thank Canpo Electric, Boychuk Ventures, Trail Tire, Homestyle Construction, HDF Insurance, The Wild West Saloon, Les Co. Distribution (Lucas Oil) and Bel Engine Services. Cal would like to thank all the crew for their hard work all season long and they include Anne Lamers, Dave Palmer and Norm Kolwich.
