Have a bruno in rear end dragster with Hemi. Seems soft on launch but fine on run. So after reading previous posts I have tried adjusting pressure at lock nut next to gauge at 3000 rpm but max on gauge I can get is 110 lbs? Any ideas on what could be wrong or am I adjusting wrong.
    Thanks

Can you also lower the pressure? If that is the pressure at 3000 rpm then it is going to be real soft on launch. The lowest you should turn it according to Bruno is 150 lbs. what fluid are you using? Have you checked the filter in the pan? Could be you have a Bruno pump problem or internal leak or you could have a converter problem.

Can lower it to about 90 on gauge. Might also check gauge.

If you are loose on the converter to flex plate clearance that will also cause a low pressure range. You can turn it up and down but not high enough. If you loosen the converter bolts so you can slide the converter back and forth you should have in the range of 0.150-0.190 in.

Where are you in this range ?

I bought the car complete, and have only done a few meetings with it.
The Bruno has been out of the car after I purchased it to freshen engine but only the oil has been changed (without changing filter)

That will probably be the problem then.

so the clearance is too tight at 115..... is that pushing the pump gear back .

If I remember correctly it has to do with the position of the converter snout to holes inside the Bruno unit. And yes if the clearance is too small it can also damage the pump.

When you have it apart you should also measure the pump gear depth, new 0.0035 in, and double check the oil feed line for leaks and cracks in the case in the threaded areas.

Great. Ok, now turn it down to about 150-160 and start from there
