    Torquing Sequence for Brooks rods
    After bolts are snugged, alternate from bolt to bolt in the following sequence
    For Silver Washers
    25, 45, 65 and 75 Ft. lbs
    For Black Washers
    25, 45, 65, 75, and 90 Ft. lbs
    Do not re-torque when hot
    let them cool first

    while waiting for them to cool is the best case, its not always possible if you are running national events between rounds. i always torqued our brooks b2's (black washers) to 90 lbs between rounds. i do the same with the grp's we run now. i always lube the threads with torco. some people like to use regular oil on the threads. some of the other assembly lubes alter the rod bolt stretch. torco and 90 lbs is tried and true past 10,500 rpm. however, go with what brooks says.

    Will, how do you like the GRP rods in a blown motor? We used them successfully for years in our 700 cube nitrous motor but our blown hemi Ford came with Brooks rods. I used to hear that you should only run Brooks in a blown hemi but I see alot of people switching to GRP. I would like to switch back to GRP next time.

    absolutely love the grp's. i know shelly has gotten 23 runs out of one set, some teams say they get more. i think we've made it to 17 runs, but we always have had something stupid happen, ie sprags, head gaskets, etc that have shortened rod life. if we get a chance, we plan on running the grp's to 23-24 runs. we used to chunk the brooks at 12.

    Anyone have experience with Venoilia Rods? They seem to be the same as the Brooks.

    Roots car, shift around 9600 rpm.

    Thanks
