I have a set in the car from last year with 27 passes on them and wanted to use them a little longer, so I thought I would get some opinions. 8100 RPM blown alcohol funny car running very conservative tuneup 6.85@205 area. They did see the limiter a couple of times (9200 I believe) on burnout, but nothing beyond 81 on run. Bearings were changed midway and they still are like the day we put them in. 4" stroke. 6.900 long. I have a spare set and was thinking I could get this year and next in on the two. I'm sure someone has a real run count that they have used for these. Thanks

Thanks Dave and I know that. I normally don't play that game, but am trying to stretch the dollar and was just more curious than anything. I have decided to change them, but still would like to know how far others push them. By the way it is a BBC with about 36 pounds of boost. C'mon now surely there are some opinions out there. Thanks again.

    b2 brooks rods

b1 & b2 rods are some of the best i have seen. used b2 up till last year when they quit on us. we have used unlightend B2 rods for about 5 years and run about 60 to 80 runs per set. we have a fuelaltered that runs 4.0s to high 3.8s in the 1/8 they were always good on rod bearings eventhough we would take out mains. times change now you should call BME and pay the 1320 just like the rest of winners in the drag racing world. 800 dollars for good rods are long gone

In case some of you Brooks B2 lovers didn't hear. Venolia has a bunch of guys working there that came over from Brooks and they are making an almost identical B2 rod and calling it the V2

    brooks

After almost a 4 week wait Venolia tells me they ran out of forgings. BME quoted me 1520.00.
The only other option I know is Hussey.

I was told they bought the whole deal tooling and all. Like mike said the only difference besides the b2 missing is they upgraded the bolts.

Went to MGP as the Venolia V2 is unknown. Will wait to see how it pans out in the future.

    B2

The V2 is forged in the same foundry as the Brooks and the Venolia rod is a good piece so I don't think it's risky. They ran out of forgings so they are checking weight of the Venolia piece against my B2 to see if it's close.
They are trying to work with me at venolia,i'm just running out of time.

BTW a buddy of mine toured Venolias shop and saw a pile of forgings marked AJPE.
